The housing is molded from high-temperature resistant plastic rated UL94V-0, ensuring excellent flame retardance and thermal stability. The contacts are made from copper alloy for superior electrical conductivity. The connector features a stainless steel front shell and mid plate for enhanced mechanical strength and EMI protection, along with a silicone O-ring that provides an added layer of environmental sealing. Plating specifications include nickel underplating across all contact surfaces, with 3 microinches (3µ") of gold plating on the functional contact areas to ensure excellent conductivity and corrosion resistance. The solder areas of the contacts are nickel plated for secure and reliable assembly. The front shell is fully nickel underplated for durability and shielding, while the mid plate features a clear finish to maintain structural integrity without added coatings.
